In the spring of 1995 after a long search for an activity that was not only dedicated to physical training, Michele became interested in Martial Arts.
He self-taught himself the Japanese styles of Karate and Aikido, two styles that are ever more followed here in Italy. During his self-teaching of Hung Gar he encountered the Chinese Art of Gung Fu. About two years later, he became interested in Wing Chun and soon realized the particularity of this style made up of scientific techniques and short and direct movements.
Michele intensely practised more and more and carried on self- teaching himself through books and videos available in Italy.
At the beginning of 1999, after having searched among the various families of Wing Chun Gung Fu, he became acquainted with the Traditional style of the Grandmaster William Cheung. He began to search for teaching material of this style, but it was almost impossible because of the lack of material in Italy. Finally through Internet he succeeded in getting in touch with the World Wing Chun Kung Fu Academy in Australia and began to follow the courses offered by the academy online.
Two years later Michele found himself at a dead end, because of the lack of a teacher that could help to clarify all the doubts that he had. So, he decided to meet the representative for Europe of the WWCKFA Master GianLuca Boccato, who at that time was the only teacher in Italy who was a direct student of the Grandmaster William Cheung.
He only took a few private lessons as the school was so far away, but they were very important because they gave him what he had lacked from my online teachings. Thanks to these few lessons with Master Boccato Michele was able to improve the execution of the forms and techniques he had learnt up until then and was able to clarify all the doubts he had had about the theoretical aspects of these.
In the Spring of 2005, after years of preparation he finished his book based on the Shil Lim Tao form. During this period of time Michele became acquainted with Si-Fu Angelo Nardo, another Italian Master of Traditional Wing Chun, scholar of Master Boccato and founder of the “Associazione Italiana Wing Chun”
He participated in a seminar held by the Grandmaster William Cheung at the “Associazione Italiana Wing Chun” with the hope of having a private lesson with him. With the help of Si-Fu Angelo Nardo he was lucky enough to have the private lessons he had hoped for.
In the autumn of 2005 Michele founded the “Traditional Wing Chun Gung Fu Study Association”, a no-profit association based on the concept of studying, practicing and spreading the art of Traditional Wing Chun.
